New 2018 Honda BR-V is going to represent compact crossover segment. It was a boom on the market ever since its appearance in 2015. This model shares platform with Amaze and Brio. However, it does not belong to their classes, and it fills spot right under HR-V. Their biggest stalemate CR-V is also coming for 2018 season, but it is much bigger than its siblings. However, new BR-V will bring enough excitement and fun as bigger vehicles from lineup. One of the biggest advantage is the price, which the tiny model can offer.
2018 Honda BR-V engine
Under the hood of the 2018 Honda BR-V is a 1.5-l i-VTEC unit, available both in diesel or petrol variant. Drivetrain is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Other possibility is a CVT, with new advanced paddle shifters. Standard gasoline unit propels the vehicle with 120 horsepower and 115 pound-feet of torque. Diesel, on the other hand, can make so much power. New BR-V can get only 100 horses from it, but torque level is much higher, estimated around 150 lb-ft. With all changes included, new crossover will be able to go 20 mpg in urban area, and 28 mpg on highway.
2018 Honda BR-V styling
There will be many changes on the 2018 Honda BR-V. It will be lighter than before, due to higher usage of aluminum. Frame suffers modifications, so crossover will be even more aggressive and aerodynamic. Ground clearance is higher. Boost on the stability, balance and handling will be notable at first drive. Styling features are not there just to make the car more appealing. These are helping on the performance end. Inside the SUV, there is enough room for 6 passengers. Last row is tight, but travelers in second row have enough space for legs and head. Infotainment for this update of the crossover will have new features to present. Nevertheless, full list of equipment is not available yet.
2018 Honda BR-V price
Tiny crossover targets India as its main market. Although Honda is well-known of its quality and high price of products, they must offer it cheaper if company wants to succeed in this country. That’s why 2018 Honda BR-V gets the price of $14,000 for base model. Nevertheless, if more powerful engines arrive with it, value could jump over $20,000.
