The 2018 Acura ILX Type S is getting improvements in engine room. Regular sedan has a 2.4-l and 2.0-l four-cylinder units as suppliers of power. Type S won’t offer the first one, but only second. But, this version lines up turbocharger and few other boosters to get more output numbers. Comparing to base ILX and its 240 hp, Type S can make over 300 horses. Transmission is a 8-speed automatic, same as for standard ILX model. But, what makes difference is Type S hybrid. With it, petrol unit is having help from electric batteries. Numbers are still unknown, but boost will be significant.

Beside powerful engine, 2018 Acura ILX Type S will have to improve its design. First changes are in the cabin. Then, new infotainment and tech features are on the way. Comfort gets boost with additional settings and materials. Outside, fans will see jewel headlights and more aggressive hood. Not too many further details are available at the moment, but we are sure company is keeping some very interesting things for launch.

Acura is not boosting only ILX. There will be some other models in higher class versions. However, all of them usually come after base unit. So, that means, 2018 Acura ILX Type S could come somewhere in mid-2018. Starting price will be again, as for car that will come later this year, around $40,000.
