Honda launched in 2014 new side-by-side vehicle, a Pioneer 700. This model was so successful, so company decided to expand offer by adding smaller machine. It is Pioneer 500 for two persons. Comparing to many other parts, transmission remains the same as on the predecessor of 2017 Honda Pioneer 500. On the other hand, suspension is getting upgrade. Now, there are dual-rate springs. These can offer smoother ride and better handling. Overall length of new UTV is 102.5 inches, and wheelbase is 73.1. Vehicle is 50-inches wide and has tight turning radius. With new suspension and size, larger obstacles can be solved easier. Pioneer 500 now can tow up to 450 lbs, and there are few hooks for cargo. Door knob is revisited, so entry and exit are simplified. However, door and net could be opened as one.

Under the hood of the UTV is 475 cc single cylinder engine, that offers superb performance. It is mated to automatic transmission box. Liquid-cooling system improves durability of the 2017 Honda Pioneer 500. Furthermore, brakes are better than before. On both ends are hydraulic discs. Front is 200 mm and rear is 170 mm disc. New UTV can make 29 hp and 40 mph. However, there is electronic speed limiter system installed for 2017 year model.

There are few color schemes available for 2017 Honda Pioneer 500. Standard model comes in green or red variant. There is also Phantom Camo paintjob. However, this raises value of the ATV at $9,600. Standard model costs $9,000. Also, for upgraded variant, there are bimini top or fabric roof with rear panel available.
