The ultimate adventure bike now comes even better, thanks to big updates that the 2020 Honda Africa Twin brings. The legendary model comes with significant improvements compared to the last-year model. It is lighter, more powerful and more capable, while you may also count on a full load of the latest tech goodies. This even includes a new touchscreen, which brings a lot of amazing things with it, including Apple CarPlay smartphone integration. Still, the most important thing about the new version is that the chassis has been completely redesigned and now provides even better handling and overall riding experience.
2020 Honda Africa Twin Engine
Of course, one of the first things that come to mind with 2020 Honda Africa Twin is a new engine. The famous parallel twin has been updated for this occasion and now features bigger displacement, bigger strokes and many other upgrades. All this means you may count on more power and torque. The total output now goes up to 75kW @ 7500 rpm and 105Nm @ 6250 rpm.
A great thing to know is that this engine comes in two variants when it comes to the transmission. Of course, a 6-speed manual gearbox is standard and there is no doubt that most riders will prefer this setup, due to unparalleled reliability and durability. Still, those who prefer a little bit more convenient ride can also get Honda’s excellent dual-clutch transmission.
Speaking of the riding convenience, the Africa Twin comes with ABS brakes, which also offer selectable modes, as well as with cornering anti-lock brakes. Also, you may count on cruise control.
2020 Honda Africa Twin Chassis and Suspension
As we already mentioned, everything has been reworked on the 2020 Honda Africa Twin. This includes a new chassis as well. Not only that it’s lighter, but it’s also narrower. This also means that the fuel tank has been reshaped. Interestingly, it is bigger than before. Of course, the new design provides a lower center of gravity, while the famous semi-double-cradle frame layout guarantees excellent off-road performances.
A new swingarm has been installed, while you may count on six different drive modes. Four of them are preset modes, while two of them have been left to riders to make their ideal configuration.
When it comes to the suspension design, there is a 45mm inverted telescopic fork with 9.1 inches of travel. On the other end, you may count on Pro-Link® system with a single shock and 8.7 inches of travel.
New Touchscreen Display
Another big novelty for the 2020 Africa Twin is a new 6.5-inch touchscreen, which comes loaded with Honda’s latest infotainment system. Among other goodies it offers, it also comes with Apple CarPlay smartphone integration. The thing we particularly like about the new screen is that you can choose between three different modes, depending on what you want to see on the screen.
Of course, this isn’t the only convenience feature we would like to mention. The 2020 Honda Africa Twin also comes with a narrower riding position, new handlebars, protection and similar kinds of upgrades. New handlebars are particularly interesting, as they are taller, and now made of tapered aluminum. Also, you can get heated handles. This bike also comes with all kinds of accessories in the offer, including things like centerstand, quick shifter, top and side boxes, a rally seat, rally footpegs and more.
Price and Warranty
The base price of this amazing motorcycle goes around 14.500 dollars. When it comes to warranty, you may count on a one-year unlimited mileage warranty. Of course, it can be extended with HondaCare Protection Plan.
