Buying a model from the Honda’s luxury line is always a great deal and 2019 Acura ILX definitely won’t be an exception. The entry-level model of this premium brand will should be redesigned. So, the next year could be the last one for the original model, which came in 2012. Also, it is important to mention that the company did a facelift two years ago. For this occasion, they introduced various changes. So, the updated ILX features a more attractive look, as well as various other improvements.

The 2019 Acura ILX will come in seven trim levels. The base model will come with standard features like automatic LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, heated mirrors, keyless entry and ignition, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, simulated leather upholstery, heated front seats, six-speaker audio etc. The Special Edition adds bigger 18-inch wheels and some additional body parts. Then next one is AcuraWatch Plus trim, which adds various safety features. Those are adaptive cruise control, a forward collision warning and mitigation system, lane departure warning and lane keeping assist, road departure mitigation etc. If you are for things like a multiview rear camera and a 10-speaker premium audio system, there is a Tech Plus model.

The Premium trim comes with leather upholstery, seven-speaker audio system, smartphone integration, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, satellite and HD radio etc. Finally, there is a top-range A-Spec with various interior tweaks.

2019 Acura ILX engines

For the North American market, the 2019 Acura ILX will continue with the same 2.4-liter inline-four engine. This unit is good for about 200 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. Transmission is a new 8-speed dual-clutch automatic. Performances are pretty good. This sedan needs around 6.6 seconds to reach 60 mph, while a top speed goes around 135 miles per hour. Besides great speed, this engine also sounds amazing at high revs. Fuel economy is pretty good too. It goes around 26 mpg in the city and 35 on a highway.

In some other parts of the world, 2019 Acura ILX will be available with other engines. There a new 1.5-liter Turbo, which is good for about 180 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. In some markets you can also find a 2.0-liter unit with 148 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of torque.

2019 Acura ILX release date and price

The 2019 Acura ILX should come late in the year. We don’t expect changes in price, so expect a range between 29.000 and 36.000 dollars. Competition will also remain pretty much the same. There are models like BMW 2 Series, Mercedes-Benz CLA, Audi A3 and others.
