Prepare yourselves, 2017 Honda S2000 will be a big comeback. According to the latest reports, company plans to bring back this legendary sports car. This model gained a reputation of iconic car, although it was produced in just two generations, in less than one decade. It was released in 2000, while production ended already in 2009. Nowadays, Honda’s lineup is a bit empty so, company decided to make things right. Several models are expected to be launched in near future. Those are new NSX, S660 and S2000, eventually. New model will is expected to come probably very late next year or in early 2017.
2017 Honda S2000 specs
After some time of brake, this legendary sports car is coming back. It will come completely new. Compared to previous models, 2017 Honda S2000 will be a quite different. So, it couldn’t be considered as direct successor. There are some base things that will be changed. In terms of design, new model will continue as roadster. Compared to previous models, it will probably have a little bit more robust appearance than original, bullet-like S2000. The 2017 S2000 is expected to feature same design solutions as upcoming NSX and S660 models. We will see the same design language, which includes wraparound headlights, large side air-intakes, flared wheel arches etc.
2017 Honda S2000 layout, engines, transmission
In this segment, 2017 Honda S2000 will come significantly different. Compared to previous models, that were a font-engine mounted cars, this one will feature a mid-mounted engine setup. Exact engine is still unknown, but it is expected to be same as for new Civic Type R. it is a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine. This engine will probably be paired with some electric motor, making a hybrid configuration. It is expected that total output will be 365 horsepower. When it is about transmission, there are some different predictions. There both manual and automatic transmissions in option, but it seems most likely that seven-speed dual clutch automatic will be installed in 2017 Honda S2000.

Although exact date is still unknown, we expect to see new model somewhere in late 2016 or eventually in early 2017.
