It features pretty much the same shape and styling cues. Probably the main difference is in the look of front end. Instead of original double-round lighting, there are new sharp and angular headlights, completely in modern manner. When it is about specifications, it is important to mention that 2016 Africa Twin comes with new, bigger engine. It is a 998 cc Liquid-cooled SOHC 8-valve parallel twin with 270-degree crank engine. it is quite bigger and it also comes with more power.
New model has max output of 94 horsepower and 72 pound-feet of torque. This excellent engine could be paired with two types of transmissions. The base one is 6-speed manual. Optional transmission is 6-speed dual-clutch, and as you probably know, Honda is the only manufacturer that implemented this technology on these types of motorcycles so far. Also, this transmission is specially modified for this occasion, in order to improve off-road abilities. The 2016 Honda Africa Twin comes with Honda Selectable Torque Control.
